Need to take a stress level test to confirm you really are stressed? Often times you may think you are stressed, or maybe you even KNOW you are stressed. But how stressed are you? Below is a free stress test that you can take to gage how stressed you really are. The stress test results can help you know how much you need to reduce the stress in your life. The stress management test below is not meant to replace the assessment by a physician. It is for information purposes only. Please see a professional if you are very stressed. Stress Level TestScientists and experts have determined that certain events in your life can cause you more stress than others. The higher the number of stressful events that occur in a given time can cause you greater feelings of stress. Often times, if you have experienced a lot of stressful things recently, you may react differently to other events. Something that doesn’t usually cause you stress can suddenly cause you a lot of stress based on what else has been going on in your life. Learning what the stressful events are in your life can allow you to find ways to manage how you are feeling. The stress level test below is based off of the work of Thomas Holmes and Richard Rahe. These two developed a list of stress invoking events and gave them a rating called the Life Change Unit (LCU). The higher the LCU, the more stressful the event is to the typical person. To take the stress level test, mark the events that have occurred in your life over the past year. When you’re done, add up the Life Changing Units next to the events you chose and check your score at the bottom.

The description afterwards will give you an idea of how stressed you are…Your total is? 0 to 150: GREAT!! You currently have a low stress level. This means you have a low likelihood of experiencing injury or illness related to stress. 150 to 300: If you scored in this range, you have a moderate level of stress. This means it is possible you will experience an illness or injury related to stress. It is not too late though. Teach yourself stress reducing techniques to keep stress from taking over your life. Over 300: DANGER. If you scored above 300, you have a HIGH stress level. It is very important to take care of yourself now to prevent illness or injury.
