Progressive Muscle Relaxation



Many people believe that a technique called progressive muscle relaxation can provide an immediate feeling of stress relief. This technique allows you to recognize the tense muscles in your body and learn to relax them. It is somewhat similar to meditation and should be performed at least once a day for maximum benefits.

Do the following to give this technique a try:

1) Find a comfortable position to sit in and close your eyes.

2) Relax all of your muscles from your feet to your head.

3) Breathe through your nose and concentrate on your breathing.

4) Say the word one silently to yourself as you exhale with each breath.

5) Repeat this for 10 minutes ensuring you keep all your muscles relaxed.

6) Sit quietly for a few minutes when you are finished.
