Effects of Procrastination

Do you procrastinate? There are many stressful effects of procrastination, so if so, you are creating more stress in your life. As time goes on and more things pile up and deadlines get closer, the feeling of being overwhelmed can take over. The nagging feeling that you always have something that needs to be done (yesterday…) creates a feeling of constant stress.

There are things you can do to beat procrastination and take back control of your life.

Attack what needs to be done head on.

Start cleaning off your desk and going through everything.

Start tackling things one thing at a time.

Pick something that needs to be done and finish it.

Clean off your desk, declutter your house and start knocking things off your to-do list.

Enlist the help of others if you need to.

Once you start accomplishing things you will start to feel good about yourself and want to complete even more!

Once you have successfully completed things on your to-do list, establish a routine for things that normally need to get done. Create schedules for things as they come. Don’t delay on a task, if you can get started on it right-away, then do it!

The feeling of getting something done is better than the nagging feeling of unaccomplished tasks.
